Planning Commission
Reviewing Land Development & Subdivision Proposals
The Mahoning Township Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing all subdivision and land development plans submitted within the township. With input from the Township Engineer and other experts, the commission makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Township Administration Building. Questions or submissions should be directed through the Township Office.

Zoning Hearing Board
Reviewing Appeals & Granting Variances
The Zoning Hearing Board is tasked with reviewing appeals to zoning decisions and approving variances from the township zoning ordinance when justified. Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Township Administration Building.
Zoning and code enforcement is managed by Stephen Wanner, Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer, through LTL Consultants.

Municipal Authority
Overseeing Sewer Infrastructure & Township Participation
Established in 1975 and reactivated in 1997, the Mahoning Township Municipal Authority manages the township’s sewer pump station, hookup approvals, and participation in the Central Carbon Municipal Authority, which operates the regional sewer plant.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the municipal building located at 483 Ashtown Drive, Lehighton, PA.

The Board of Supervisors is composed of five elected officials who manage township operations, adopt policies, approve budgets, appoint members to boards and commissions, and make key decisions on land use and development.
